Kallie speroni is a somerville-based artist, focused on the dark, obscure, & macabre.

From an early age, Kallie Speroni loved to play with color and dive deep into her imagination. With a 64-Color crayola crayon box at hand, Speroni created a myriad of fantasy worlds and creatures that still influence her work today.

She mainly works with watercolor, colored pencil, and marker, creating work that takes on a surrealist, dream-like attitude, including but not limited to; monsters, bright toxic colors, and gravity-defying space. Her recent work explores darker subject matter such as the femme fatale, memento mori, and gothic horror.

Speroni’s work is influenced by American traditional and neo-traditional tattoo styles and imagery, which she applies to the ideas born of her own mind. Bold lines and flash-style compositions make up much of her recent drawings, though when she has the time, her acrylic and large-scale oil paintings take on a softer surrealist Rococo atmosphere.
